Virtual Concert of the Month – May 2021
Being able to safely attend rock concerts is getting closer. But not quite yet.
If we can’t see bands live, we can at least watch a virtual rock concert sitting at home.
With everything that has happened in the world in the last year, it might seem that losing the experience of live music concerts is not on the top of the priority list. And that would be true. Keeping our loved ones safe and caring for our fellow human beings is far more important.
At the same time, it is also very sad that musicians lost one of their main platforms, the live performance in front of a paying crowd. Besides the musicians loss of income, the fans are no longer able to directly show their appreciation for the artist and their craft. For those of us of a certain age, some of our best memories revolved around getting a prime position in front of the stage where we could enjoy the sweaty experience of getting our eardrums punished. It was all worth the potential hearing loss to have the sometimes once in a lifetime opportunity.
It appears that sometime this year, we will once again be able to get together and see our favorite bands the way it was meant to be. Until then, we offer a virtual rock concert that we particularly enjoyed. We hope you will like it as well.
Rise Against : Chicago 2018
I have only ever gotten a chance to see Rise Against one time, but I was blown away. I have since collected most of their albums. You may or may not agree with lead singer Tim McIlrath’s politics or whether the band is ‘punk’ enough, they put on a good rock show. Passionate, fast and melodic, the music is made for sweaty enjoyment.
Speaking of punk, please enjoy our article on punk’s most influential bands.
Hopefully you will enjoy our choice for this month, please take a look at our previous posts. Definitely not the same as being there, but the best we can do right now.
Here are some stay at home options for your musical enjoyment.
Stay safe and listen to some records!
